I think I've sorted out some kind of budget system... Man, imagine if I didn't have this debt hanging over me - I'd have a whole $1000 extra a month.
I heard some great advice - very well known, very practical. 'Spend less than you earn'. Durrrrr. So true though, and I'm really trying to make that my motto, but it's almost impossible with this debt over my head.
I could halve the payments I make on my CC each month, but I want it gone as soon as possible. Right now I'm thinking of aiming to reduce my debts by 30 per cent... and then re-evaluating. That's about $7000... God I hate being so fiscally irresponsible. What is wrong with me? How DID i get myself in this much debt?
So... right now, aiming to get half of my debt paid by the end of the year - as in 3500 paid off by the end of the year. Is that a realistic goal? Perhaps not... I don't know. I would actually like to pay off the GE bill ASAP... if I can pay that off, that's one debt completely clear.
This pay, I might take half of my payment going on my credit card and put it on GE. That way it's well under way.... Unless I put the whole thing on there - then I'd have paid $600... which is pretty good headway. No interest on it though. I should put it towards paying off interest accumulating credit debt. So I'll pay off the $320 and the rest is going on my St George credit card.
