Saturday Spending Update

I'm very happy about how the first real day of my new budget went down. I only spent $110! Wonderful! And apart from getting my hair done, which was a bit over a hundred dollars, I spent the entire day around the shops and even though I was tempted and looked at quite a few things, I thought seriously before forking over any cash. This has made me feel really proud of myself! Tomorrow I am going to spend the day baking and doing the housework - bliss! I should have no reason to buy anything, and every reason to have a no spend day :)

I still have my weekly spending money in tact - $51.68. I decided to put the train ticket on my credit card - it's a monthly and I can pay it back later in the month. I am still trying to decide what to do with my govt bonus. Should I save it for moving later in the year? Or should I put it all on my credit card? Or should I do half and half? Realistically I should put it on my credit card i think. It's the thing carrying the most risk. There's no way I could afford to pay it back if I needed to at once. I need to get it down as quickly as possible. $900 on it will be $900 less that I have to pay interest on. As much as I would like to keep the money for something else, I need to start being sensible, realistic and do the right thing with my money for a change. I can't believe I'm in such a huge mess! Got to start somewhere though I guess.
