I've had a really successful week in terms of spending a lot less. In saying that, I haven't actually had much money to spend, but I managed to stay away from the small amount of cash in my bank account and also refrain from buying any impulse purchases during my lunch breaks. On Tuesday and Friday (today) I bought a hot chocolate ($3.10) and on Thursday I bought some gold star stickers for my diary ($2.85), to help mark my 'no sick leave challenge'. Thursday afternoon I also spent $50 on groceries.
All up I spent 58.25. Not bad for a first week! I also have $35 in cash on me and $38 in the bank. My pay should go in tomorrow.
There was a mix up with my sick leave, so I'm expecting to get paid less than normal, but it should be rectified this coming week sometime. I should also get the government stimulus bonus sometime soon - I'm planning on putting this all on my credit card for an added boost. Part of me would like to buy things with the spare cash (a new mattress would be lovely... but the fiscal part of me thinks if I really try I can pay off the good majority of my debt by the end of the year. It would make next year so much easier not having to factor that into any wages I have to earn. So a new mattress can wait :)
